Carlo Giacosa Langhe Nebbiolo 2019 pours a bright ruby red with delicate garnet highlights. On the nose, it offers an enticing bouquet of sour cherry, red currant and wild strawberry, lifted by dried rose petal, a hint of clove and a whisper of underbrush. The palate is dry, medium-bodied and elegantly balanced. Zippy acidity and fine, silky tannins frame vibrant flavours of tart plum, cranberry and a touch of orange zest, finishing with a clean, mineral-tinged echo.
The 2019 season in the Langhe combined a mild spring with well-timed summer rains and warm autumn days, yielding beautifully ripe Nebbiolo grapes while preserving lively freshness. This Langhe bottling is approachable now, try it with prosciutto-wrapped melon, mushroom risotto or grilled pork chops. Will cellar gracefully through 2027.
