The Reitsteig Spätburgunder is an elegant and charming red wine that compares very well with New Zealand examples of modern, only lightly oaked, fruit-driven Pinot Noirs.
Single Vineyard REITSTEIG
Located directly below the castle hill, only separated by the rise of the former castle ruins on the Schlossberg and the Herrenberg. On a steep and southward inclined slope, the Reitsteig Pinot Noir grows with its exceptional and great character.
Grape
Pinot Noir is the classic red grape of cooler wine regions, it is very durable and develops extraordinarily complex aromas.
Vinification
Selective hand-picking on 11 October 2012 in the vineyard Reitsteig, only fully ripe, healthy grapes with 102° Oechsle were selected, 12 months maturation in oak barrels.
