From the premium cru vineyard ROCHE - a prestigious wine which will treat its admirers with sensations that will not easily be forgotten
You cannot help but be struck by the hues, intensity and extraordinary beauty of this wine’s color. The glass is lit up by the splendid combination of garnet and ruby nuances in its perfect brilliance. Dense vinous traces are left on the walls of the glass, with plenty of legs demonstrating the strength of its alcohol. The intensity, richness and tremendous length of its bouquet are quite remarkable. Its varietal qualities are made more precious still by elegant, clear-cut sensations reminiscent of ripe black cherries, bilberries and peach jam. Hints of flowers, mountain hay, licorice and tobacco then give way to the noble tertiary aromas which formed first in the 15/20 hl. oak casks, and then in the confines of the bottle. The nose is rounded off by overtones of vanilla, underbrush, and noble wood. On the palate it starts out warm and mouth-filling. Evident – though soft – tannins and good acidity bring out all the structure of a big, powerful wine suited to lengthy ageing. All the sensations showing on the nose are even more intense in the mouth. Very long aromatic finish. In conclusion, at the moment this is a big, austere wine that looks like having a very long cellar life. Definitely a wine of great promise.
