We tried this amazingly crisp and approachable dry white at the winery in April 2016, and ordered a large batch for Singapore. We now have the most recent vintage 2019.
This Viognier is a wine with good body, structure and has an intense aroma with high notes of exotic fruits. It goes very well with fish, fresh cheeses and meats, it is also suitable for the whole meal. 2008 was the first time Ferraris produced only 4,000 bottles.
Born to give Ferraris wine a quality white wine in 2006, this white was initially composed of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Sauvignon Blanc. Back then, Luca decided to differentiate himself from others in fact these are the two most common white grape varieties in the world. He planted in 2006 one hectare of Viognier in a cool area in the district of Casot, the first and so far the only one who planted this French grape variety in Piedmont. The wine is made at about 18° C after a soft pressing of the grapes and the wine is allowed to rest on its lees for 12 months in stainless steel tanks where we carry out a weekly botonage to stir the lees with the wine so as to avoid oxidation and always maintain fresh scents.
